Can Crystals Help Your Sex Life?
During these uncertain times, everyone’s trying new things to break out of the monotony of staying home. Some people are picking up yoga, others are doing puzzles, but even though we may be feeling physically busy, our sex lives may be taking a backseat.
Something that may be interesting to try to encourage a new vibe is introducing the power of crystals to your sex life.
Now I’m sure some of you are thinking ‘Is that a real thing?’ But let’s break down both the science and thought process behind crystals, and then how people are using them to take their sex life to a whole new realm. A little spirituality never hurt anyone, right?
So let’s hit some crystal jargon. First off, what is considered a crystal? To put it simply, crystals are solid materials that are atomically arranged to give them a specific structure. If it looks like a shiny lumpy rock, that’s actually classified as a gemstone. Crystals by nature bring symmetry and balance – they’re like the Feng-Shui of rock formations. They’ve been here much longer than we have, and they’re going to be here much longer than we are. And some believe that these crystals have special properties and energies.
FACT OR FICTION?
The idea that crystals have some sort of magical quality is actually rooted in fact! Crystals are all about what vibration they give off – because that’s a scientific truth. Every different crystal does vibrate at a different speed, does refract light differently, and does feel different when it comes to touch and feel.
So now that the science is out of the way, what are some stones to bring into the passion play?
Rose quartz is the stone that represents romance. When held, it’s said to open your heart center and build trust. If you’re trying to plant a seed in the proverbial garden, this is the crystal to keep on your bedside table while you rock the boat.
Variscite is known for its gorgeous milky green color and is said to increase libido. So if you’re feeling like you’re just never in the mood during these times, variscite is the stone to unturn.
Let’s talk some psychology before we get deeper into the physical. Putting orange carnelian on your night stand before going to bed may not magically change your sex life. But the stone is said to promote vitality to female sex organs. By putting this stone next to your bed, you’re giving yourself permission to open yourself up, and the thought alone could very well put you on a journey of renewed sexual vigor.
To Yoni Or Not to Yoni?
Now we would be remiss if we didn’t talk about Yoni eggs – crystals, usually made of jade, that that you place in your vagina. The use of Yoni eggs is a Taoist practice that he practice has been used throughout history to promote sexual vitality. However, jade is incredibly porous and can easily absorb bacteria. So for the health of your hoo-hoo, we do not recommend inserting Yoni eggs and disrupting your vaginal health. (If you’re looking for a product to work your Kegel muscles, try the Yarlap!)
Jade does however, promote balance and holistic regeneration. So by all means, keep them around for a spiritual bedroom boost! Lay them on your body externally, absorb their energy, and enjoy their smooth cool texture!
Rubbing The Stone
There is a practice called chakrub which is literally using crystals to masturbate. Crystals are shaped down to remove rough edges, and ‘rubbed’ both around the clitoris and in the vaginal canal. Using different crystals lets you focus on the healing power of the crystal with your mental intentions. Crystal ‘wands’ don’t come cheap, and may be cold to the touch, but because they are organic, they respond and warm quickly to your body.
Many first hand accounts claim transcendent experiences when using chakrubs, but remember – crystals are very porous and can hide bacteria very easily. Please be safe and responsible when handling crystals in a sexual manner.
So if you’re looking for a way to become just a little more sexually spiritual, pick up some crystals and absorb their energy. If anything else, they’ll be a beautiful addition to your nightstand!
