It was the beginning of the summer and I had just completed my third year of college. After balancing a full time job and a draining school schedule, I needed a hobby to retrieve my soul. I didn’t know what I wanted, but I knew it wasn’t looking for a new book or T.V. show to obsess over. Eventually I figured out what I needed. Three boyfriends, 20 pounds and one year ago, I discovered Tinder.
My first time logging onto Tinder was overwhelming. I was impressed with the advanced options I had to define my potential match. Once I had my preferred age, sex and mile radius set up, I was ready to swipe. I could swipe left and right all day (except when I ran out of likes). After a year of misleading matches and suspicious profiles, I decided to go on a Tinder hiatus. I thought Tinder was going to improve my life, but it created a new one instead.
