Ethically Sexy: Porn with a Plot

Female legs in stockings ethical porn

It’s no secret that a large majority of porn is created by men, for men. It was believed for so long (and still is) that women hated porn. The reality is – girls like porn, too. In fact, women love all kinds of porn! While the mainstream is perfect for some, for others, well… It’s just not what they’re looking for. Others want porn that’s a little more female friendly. Some look for ethical porn.

No, ethical porn doesn’t mean romantic, slow, and sensual depictions of sex (although it could). It means porn that shows respect for women and values their pleasure and participation equally to men.

For the lovely females of the world who are just trying to find some porn worth watching, you’ve come to the right place.

Contrary to what you may have heard, there’s a lot of porn out there that has a storyline—and not all of it’s “classic” content. Here’s a selection of recently produced movies, all created by women. The erotic films on this list span a wide scope of genres—from thriller to romance to western. Next time you feel like having a bit of story with your sex media, these are some hot narrative choices.

When watching porn in 2017, ethical porn production is just as important as ethical consumption. Members of the adult industry have many thoughts on what ethical production means, but one thing’s for sure regarding viewers doing their part – ethical consumption means paying for your porn. This means steering clear of tube sites and tumblr content, which do not result in dividends for the people who are actually making/doing the sex in the movies. To do our part, we’ve included artist-approved links to places you can easily access these excellent films.

Unbridled (2017)

Directed by Stormy Daniels for Wicked Pictures.

After losing her horse in a tragic accident, upper-level eventer Avery Montgomery (Stormy Daniels) gave up riding and moved to New York. A decade later, she learns that her now estranged family’s ranch is being auctioned off to cover a delinquent loan. Their last hope rests on Avery returning to Texas and winning the Big Star Horse Trials’ substantial purse. Can she do it – and face her demons at the same time? The drama!

About the Director:

Stormy Daniels has been a porn performer since 2002 and a director since 2004, and there is so much of “her” in her work. “Unbridled is based on the sport of 3 Day Eventing, which is a sport I’ve been heavily involved in for several years,” she explained. “Not only was it a lot of fun to ride my own horses in the movie but I also got to combine my two passions in one project: filmmaking and eventing.”

As a freelance photographer and woman-about-town, Charlie has her sights set on Danny, an older butch in search of adventure and romance. Just as things are about to click, Charlie accidentally snaps a photo of a murder—rendering herself the killer’s newest target. With a murderer hot on her trail and a new relationship developing, will Charlie find love—or her own demise? Erotic film noir!

About the Director:

As a filmmaker, Shine Lousie Houston is as deft as she is skilled, integrating her vision of the world seamlessly with erotica. “Growing up, I was always frustrated with the coming out stories I was hearing and seeing: there were so few queers of color, the representations’ idea of ‘sexy’ wasn’t mine, narratives were formulaic and stereotypical, and the production quality left a lot to be desired,” she explained. “SNAPSHOT is an attempt to provide a different coming out narrative in a tone that reflects some of my most profound filmic influences.”

Torn (2012)

Directed by Jacky St. James for New Sensations.

While he wasn’t even looking, Drew has found himself at a crossroads in life. His marriage has lost its spark—sex has been replaced by friendship, and spontaneity has been replaced by responsibility. Then one day, a passionate young art student enters his life. Though he is consumed with guilt, Drew soon finds himself caught up in an illicit affair—and though we may be quick to write him off, Torn is more complicated than that. Illicit passions, with a twist!

About the Director:

We’ve all heard that drivel – some jerk leaves his loving wife for a young chick who “inspires him.” But according to Jacky St. James, Torn is not that story. “Yes, Torn explores a man’s affair with a much younger woman, but the approach is unique,” she explains. “This film does not set out to take sides, vilify the adulterers, or provide easy solutions. It’s a highly sexy film that manages to promote conversation about a very sensitive, yet relevant, topic for couples.”
