Sexploring A New You

The only thing constant in life is change, which is why you should constantly be taking steps to expand your sex life. In this week’s show, Emily provides guidance to help you evolve your bedroom routine, whether it’s with a new toy, some new moves or new ways to get intimate with your partner.

But first, Anderson and Emily take a call from Mike, a loyal Sex With Emily listener from Cleveland who is happy to share his wife’s experience using the Intensity by Pour Moi. Mike explains about how the sexual health device has helped boost his wife’s bedroom confidence, making sex even more pleasurable for both parties, even four kids later.

dff1409bf41e40adcb3373b1b227074aSexual interest began pretty early for me. I started masturbating when I was 7, lost my virginity at 15, and over the course of the following 12 years have had a full and diverse sex and dating journey. As my adulthood progressed, however, I found myself growing ever so slightly complacent. I noticed myself coasting along the crest of a sexual plateau, and falling into hazardous dating cycles and retrogressive romantic patterns. All my orgasms (even my self-induced ones) felt essentially the same, as did my interactions with prospective mates. Continue Reading

Screen Shot 2015-09-11 at 9.45.15 PMIn honor of Back to Sex Basics month, it’s time to address that elephant in the room: Your sexual satisfaction.

People seem to think that improving something as monumental as your sex life can only be accomplished by BIG moves, GRAND gestures and HUGE commitments, which is probably why they don’t make them. But I’m going to let you in on a little secret: there is actually an alarmingly simple move that will not only make your sex life better by way of stronger and more frequent orgasms, but is also beneficial to your overall health. So what is this mysterious sex life-saver? A special little squeeze called the Kegel.

Kegel exercises are the internal and controlled contractions of your pelvic floor muscles. The best way to understand the feeling and location of these muscles is to restrict your flow when you’re peeing; the same muscles that contract to stop your stream are the ones you can strengthen with Kegel exercises. One of the best things about Kegels is that they can be done at any time or place discreetly – like while you’re waiting in the airport, sipping a latte, for example.  Continue Reading

ss_101759896Out of blue, I got a call one day from a friend’s husband who works at a high end investment firm in Los Angeles. I’d met him at a few cocktail parties but we’d never talked business before.

“Hi Emily, there’s a medical company on the cutting edge of innovation, and they came to us for an investment, and you’re the expert in this sexual wellness space, so it’d be great for to come to our offices to see what you think of these products.”

He’s a more conservative guy, so I was particularly interested that he was calling me to talk sex toys. I drove to his high rise penthouse offices, displaying spectacular views of Los Angeles, and he hands me a stack of boxes that read “INTENSITY: An intimate health and stimulation device” from PourMoi.com

“Let me know what you think, I have no idea about sex toys (he whispers under his breath) but this product claims to use some groundbreaking technology and have health benefits. Can you try it and let me know if you think and if it’s worth our investment?”

I thanked him, and left with boxes in hand, and assured him I’d report back with my professional opinion (have I mentioned how much I love my job?)  Continue Reading

girlfakesitThey say “Life is too short not to orgasm everyday”… Now I don’t know who “they” are exactly, but I really wish I could give them a high five on this one. When something is as incredible as a big O, why wouldn’t you do everything you can to work them into your daily life? In my opinion, every day should be National Orgasm Day (and whose to say it can’t be?) but it seems that today is the day we really take a moment to appreciate the magical occurrence that is the orgasm.
